The Next Big Trend : Arranged Marriages
Still remember the time when marriages were not because of love but more like because our parents said so? It seems that the past has come the future again, according to one trend expert, the best way to find your partner could be an arranged marriage. What a shock huh?
Marian Salzman, the co-author of “Next Now: Trends for the Future”, “Today is the era of the arranged couple who fall into love around the birth of the first child”. Arranged marriages have been part of many cultures for thousands of years, and evolving into custom filtered through since America grows into multi-culturally.
Do parents are the best people when it comes to pick the right partner for their children? Sloane Veshinski, a Hollywood-based marriage and family therapist said “They can be, since your parents know the best of you and aware of your habits, peculiarities, turn-ons and turn-offs and a lot of other factors to determine suitable partner for their children.”
The modern arranged marriage involves with meeting the partner put forward by the family in a controlled environment, and if the meeting goes well, the next meeting are designed, and the rest is up to them. This also could make the bond between the child and the parents are strengthened.
But, for those independent-minded, who believe it is their job to pick their future life partner; this is definitely not for them, because there should be no pressure to be a part of an assisted marriage situation if you only trust your own judgment.
